Dubbed one of the worlds most scenic drives, Monterey Bay's 17-Mile Drive is undoubtedly one of the most stunning experiences to be had while visiting the area! Follow the red-dashed line to follow the exact trail, the trip showing you the best of the Pacific Coastline, a romantic array of rocky coast and luxurious homes sitting between Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach.
The trip is known for a few key sites, as you will see in the video below, such as the Lone Cypress, Bird Rock, The Lodge, Spanish Bay, Point Joe, Fanshell Beach, and Crocker Grove. The Lone Cypress is the midpoint of the original drive, which has changed since 1881 when it was first established, though it has never strayed from being exactly 17 miles long. This tree is one of the most photographed in the world, sitting stoically on the cliffs for just over 250 years now. Bird Rock is a wildlife-filled stopping point in which you will see birds, of course, but most likely much more sea lions than birds. Spanish Bay holds a history of early Spanish explorers and provides a scenic shoreline boardwalk to explore.
Pebble Beach itself is located within the heart of the 17-Mile Drive, this community is known for great scenery, world-class dining, and probably most of all, it's 5-star golf courses (many of which you will get to see on the drive). There are 7 championship courses along the way, one of them the first public course to stage the US Open. Spend some time at the visitor center and learn all about the century-long history of The Lodge, or perhaps just get dining options information. The Bench, Tap Room and Stillwater are among the exquisite cuisine experiences here in Pebble Beach, home of 'Big Flavors, Global Influence, and Renowned Chefs'.
