Discovery Place

'From nature to neurons and birds to beakers, science is in your hands at Discovery Place. Step into a world where science is brought to life featuring extraordinary experiences and explosive experiments during daily programs.  Wander the large, new aquarium, walk the rainforest or have an eye-popping experience in the 3D theatre. The more adventurous can lie on a bed of nails or explore unseen inhabitants of the human body, or spend time in one of three hands-on labs where visitors find solutions using real science.'

Billy Graham Library

'Graham has enthralled millions with his sermons for many years and in the course of the visit, you can enjoy the tranquil environment in the Memorial Prayer Garden, look at items in the Ruth Attic Bookstore, walk around the Graham family home place, and eat delicious cuisine at the Dairy Bar. Guests can take a journey of faith and retrace Billy Graham’s dynamic journey. You will learn through interactive kiosks, spectacular multimedia presentations, photos, and memorabilia. The Billy Graham Homeplace is the location where Billy Graham resided from the age of nine until he went to college. Visitors will take an intimate look at Graham’s roots, exploring original furniture and fascinating memorabilia in the lovely two-story colonial style brick home.'

Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden 

'The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is part nature preserve and part showcase for the best of Southern horticulture, with over 110 cultivated acres. See various gardens and the Robert Lee Stowe Visitor Pavilion, manicured themed gardens, the nostalgic Cottage Garden, the fragrant Conifer Garden, and the Stately West Gardens. You will also see the breathtaking Orchid Conservatory which opened in January of 2008, filled with exotic, fragrant orchids from around the world. The Garden Store is stocked with unique items, many of which are hand-crafted by local artisans.The nostalgic Cottage Garden offers sweet scents that will take you back to grandma’s house with heirloom plants popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.'

Carowinds 

'As one of the best theme parks in the country, it would be a shame to visit Charlotte and not stop by Carowinds! The Intimidator, the tallest, fastest, longest roller coaster in the southeast is the park’s 13th coaster. Inspired by Dale Earnhardt, this $23M coaster debuts as the largest capital investment in park history. Included in admission is Boomerang Bay, a 20-acre Australian-themed Outback oasis of wet fun. You can even relax in style at a private cabana rental with chairside service! Visit Planet Snoopy, a 12-acre children’s paradise that kids and parents can enjoy together full of fun, games, and plenty of Snoopy themed attractions.'
