Autry National Center

Otherwise known as the Autry Museum of the American West, the Autry National Center is devoted to the illuminating history of the American West through art, cultural and historical artifacts, and Native American perspectives. In the heart of Los Angeles, you can find the only major metropolitan museum to combine varying perspectives on the American westward expansion, delving into the depths of the American dream, Native American views, and the cultural movement to the ends of the American continent.

Holding more than half a million objects in their main collection, the Autry National Center is a fabulous destination for educational groups and interested history buffs alike. Exhibitions revolve around a yearly schedule to provide a varied and well-rounded look into the past and the history of the American West. Discover histories, stories of fact and fiction, cultural and ceremonial artifacts and more in these fabulous exhibitions. Everything from paintings of the West and frontier explorers to painted clay pots, Old West firearms, and more can be found here.

The Autry is dedicated to education and as such they provide several educational programs and events for groups. Teachers and school groups have the opportunity to enjoy docent-led tours of the exhibitions focusing on various topics. Students may also enjoy the scavenger hunt activities, also focused on various educational topics, which are offered through the museum.
