Chicago Children’s Museum

Chicago Children's Museum

Located conveniently at the Navy Pier, the Chicago Children’s Museum is one of the most family-friendly and kid-oriented places you can visit in the Windy City. This 3-story education and entertainment center provides hands-on exhibits for families and kids alike, the overall goal of the museum to ‘improve children’s lives by creating a community where play and learning connect.’ This museum was established in 1982 in response to cutbacks in the public school system, a Grand Avenue shining gem since then.

Inside, your group will be able to create, discover, and explore the many different exhibits and activities, several sensory experiences and engaging educational content all throughout the establishment. Literacy, math, performing arts, and health are all covered within, a good reason why this is the second most visited Children’s Museum in the U.S.

Try the excavation at Dinosaur Expedition, work the pipes and pulleys of WaterWays, or take the really young ones to Pritzker Playspace for a jungle gym play paradise. The museum is open from 10 am to 8 pm, and while there are no eateries within the museum you can always just step right outside the doors and find something to eat at the Navy Pier (Bubba Gump, Margaritaville, Giordano’s, McDonald's, plus more).
