Welcome to the Historic Farnsworth House Inn, one of the 'most recognized Inns in America'. Established around 1810, this home/inn/historic site has certainly seen it's fair share of essential revolutionary history.

Here is a quick timeline of events seen here at the Historic Farnsworth House Inn:

  • 1810 established
  • 1833 brick addition
  • Civil War Era sheltered Confederate sharpshooters during a 3-day conflict (over 100 bullet holes can still be seen), then the house served as a hospital immediately following
  • 1863 Lincoln precession passes on their way to the Gettysburg Address

During your visit your student group will get the chance to experience dining reminiscent of the civil war era (Dutch and period fare), take a tour of the home from garret to attic, and even take optional tours such as the Mourning Theater, East Hill Cemetery Walk, Confederate Hospital Walk, or Ghost Hunting Tour.

So get ready to learn about General John Farnsworth, about the Civil War's impact on this location, about the Civil War in general, and about how this Bed and Breakfast has made its spot in notable American history.
