From a colonial house and historic courthouse and jail, to an immersive Civil War hospital sites can make learning about wide spans of our nation's history engaging and memorable.
Just 25 miles west of Washington DC you will find Historic Prince William County, home to several unique and memorable group learning experiences dealing with the 19th century, plantation life, and the Civil War.

- Manassas National Battlefield - The site of the infamous Bull Run battles of 1862.
- Ben Lomond Historic Site - See structures from the colonial and antebellum period as you see what plantation life was like here onsite and learn about the Civil War in the area. Be sure to visit the old Civil War hospital!
- Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre - At this former county seat your group can take part in a historic trial within the restored 1822 courthouse and hail. There is also an 1850's farmhouse and 1929 one-room schoolhouse onsite.
- Lucasville School - Learn all about this one-room African American schoolhouse, in commission from 1885 to 1926.
- Rippon Lodge - Gawk at one of the oldest surviving structures in the county and the history that goes along with it!
