202 acres of animal education and entertainment await you next to the Kansas City Zoo, the world-class zoological center located within Swope Park. Inside you will find over 1300 animals alongside exceptional exhibits and programs, making this the perfect spot for your group to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of wildlife. The zoo’s mission is to ‘connect people to each other and the natural world to promote understanding, appreciation, and conservation,’ something it does quite well and has been doing quite well since opening in 1909.

The Kansas City Zoo is considered to be the most useful and accessible resource in the region for bringing urban and suburban families in touch with diverse habitats, cultures, and animals of the natural world, each visit taking you on an animalistic journey around the world. See such animals as the African Crested Porcupine, Gentoo Penguin, Masai Giraffe, Saki Monkey, and Yellow Backed Duiker while here. You can head to the penguin house or ride the train around the park, there is even an African Sky Safari that will take you soaring above the park giving you the best views of the animals possible.

If you have an ample amount of time to spend here you may want to check out the various camps, overnight stays, special events, and tours happening during your visit, you can even opt-in to be a ‘Keeper for a Day’.
