Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts

With nearly 9,000 seats per night, The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is the region’s most impactful performing arts center and the second largest in the country.

Welcome to the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Philadelphia theater group with the mission to 'operate a world-class performing arts center that engages and serves a broad audience through diverse programming, arts education, and community outreach'.

Here your group can either enjoy an evening show or tour the facility and learn all about its local impact on the arts. There are 1 hour long free tours daily at 1 pm, as well as special tours like the Art and Architecture Tour (Saturday 10:30) and Building Tour (special request), which shows you the entire complex including the Perelman Theater, Verizon Hall, the SEI Innovation Studio, and the Hamilton Garden. The entire Kimmel Center Campus is comprised of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts (Verizon Hall, Perelman Theater, SEI Innovation Studio, and the Merck Arts Education Center), the Academy of Music (owned by the Philadelphia Orchestra Association), and the Merriam Theater.

The Kimmel Center is also home to eight Resident Companies: The Philadelphia Orchestra, Opera Philadelphia, The Pennsylvania Ballet, The Philly POPS, PHILADANCO, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society and Curtis Institute of Music. Aside from various performances from these groups, there are also regular Broadway shows playing, with shows such as Cats, Miss Saigon, RENT, Book of Mormon, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

If your group is here for a show there are additional options for meet and greets, as well as dining options at the Volver Restaurant featuring Chef Jose Garces. Here you can order from the A La Carte chef menu, the Pre-Theater 3-course menu, or the kids 3-course menu. There are additional concessions and cocktails available at the Encore Bar, as well.
