Little Rock Zoo

Little Rock Zoo

Rainbow Lorikeets

The Little Rock Zoo is one of Arkansas' great treasures and has been since its humble beginnings in 1926 with a mere two animals, an abandoned timber wolf and a circus-trained brown bear. Today the park features over 725 animals representing more than 200 species of animals, many of them endangered. This outdoor attraction features 33 acres of beautifully landscaped property, which takes about 2-3 hours to leisurely stroll around. This facility is one of the state’s greatest educational and conservation resources, which is easily seen once you get here!

Your group will have the opportunity to explore several different exotic worlds, including habitats that house elephants, rhinos, giraffes, lions, tigers, and jaguars. Walk through the Big Cat Habitat, Lemur Island, the Reptile House, or the interactive feeding grounds of Lorikeet Landing. You can also ride the zoo train, feed the fish in several different locations, or catch a show at the Civitan Amphitheater. Once you’ve worked up an appetite stop by the Cafe Africa for some traditional American cuisine. After lunch, you can take it easy with a ride on the Over the Jumps Carousel or spend some time finding the perfect "zoovenir" at the Safari Trader Gift Shop.
