Mega thrills, mega exploration, and mega-adventure await your group at Kentucky's largest hidden gem, the Louisville Mega Cavern.

This former limestone mine sits 100 feet subsurface, right underneath Watterson Expressway and the Louisville Zoo.  Within this seriously massive complex are over 17 miles of passageways, the entire area measuring up to just about 100 acres. The quarry used to be kept more of a secret, mined thoroughly for about 40 years between 1930 and 1970. Louisville Crushed Stone soon turned into an area for private investors after closing, and an effort to fill the area and make use of the space began in the early 1990's. Offices, meeting spaces, roads, and other objects of infrastructure have been filled in and made from massive quantities of recycled materials, and now this 4 million square foot area is actually considered to be the largest building in Kentucky, as well as the largest recycling center in the state, by tonnage.

While here your group has several different options for fun:

  • Mega Zips - 2 hr adventure into the man-made cavern that explores geology and history along the way. 6 zips, 1 dual race line, and 2 challenge bridges. This is the world's only fully underground zip line course.
  • Mega Tram - Historic tram tour exploring the geology, mining, history, recycling, and green technology subjects surrounding the cavern.
  • Mega Bikes - 320,000 square feet of trails, jumps, pump tracks, BMX, and Dual Slalom await!
  • Mega Quest - The ONLY underground ropes aerial course in the world. Aerial ropes challenge galore!
  • Electric Bikes - 1.5 hours guided tour of cavern area.
