Inside Lowe Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau
Welcome to the largest privately owned arts facility in the United States, Huntsville's Lowe Mill ARTS and Entertainment complex.
Located in what used to be a local Textile Mill (circa 1901), this cultural complex holds 148 different studios for over 200 working artists, plus 6 galleries, a theatre, and various performance venues. This is a place for artists to create, display, and sell their work, and for the public to visit, learn, and acquire works.
With a focus on visual arts, you will see several different studios ranging in mediums and focuses, some examples being ceramics, culinary arts, woodwork, textiles, jewelry, mixed media, and performance art. The center's aim is to 'nurture artists while educating the public about art and the creative process', therefore they offer several different regular classes and workshops. These change constantly, but some examples include current options such as soapmaking, stained glass, and beeswax crayon art.
Lowe is open to the public each Wednesday through Saturday.
