Oregon Zoo

The Oregon Zoo is the 64-acre zoo in Portland featuring award-winning exhibits, summer concerts, and special events located within Washington Park, just five minutes from downtown. Here you can see the world in an afternoon as you discover the over 2,000 animals from around the world, including 21 endangered species and over 35 threatened species. The Oregon Zoo is renowned for its conservation work throughout its existence, as well as its elephant breeding program work. This zoo aims to be a model of sustainable conservation of natural resources in everything that it does, making it extremely easy to see why over 1.6 million visitors come here per year.

Once inside your group will have many different chances to discover each species of bird, mammal, reptile, fish, amphibian, and invertebrate the zoo holds, as you choose to stroll through the park yourselves, take a special zoo tour, or maybe ride the fun scenic train route through the park! Choose amongst such interactive exhibits as African Rainforest or Predators of the Serengeti before heading over to the many botanical gardens throughout, each featuring different native plants of the Pacific Northwest region’s temperate rainforests. These naturalistic exhibits, pathways, and scenic vistas feature over 1,000 exotic plants as well, such as the gorgeous Firebird Heliconia. Before you go head over to the gift shop or any of the five different eateries within the park for a quick and delicious bite to eat. There are even seasonal food trucks and carts throughout the park providing tasty morsels and Portland concessions. Your group is truly going to enjoy the time you get to spend at the beautiful and amazing Oregon Zoo.
