River Street Sweets

River Street Sweets

River Street Sweets was first established in 1973 by founders Georgia Nash and Pamela Strickland, under the name of The Cotton Bale. At first, this venture was sought out to provide a quality gift shop for River Street, a simple family business that occasionally dabbled in sweet treats and confections. Due to an overwhelming demand for more sweet stuff, Nash and Strickland turned the store into River Street Sweets, a perfect example of a successful Southern Candy Store. The first claim to fame for this shop was their "world-famous Praline", the amazingly buttery and pecan-rich delight that flies off the shelves daily.

Inside your group will quickly find out why River Street Sweets has been consistently voted Savannah’s best candy store, as well as perhaps eat your way to diabetes as you try to taste all the glorious inventions this store holds. Try the popular glazed pecans, chocolates, sugar and spiced pecans, log rolls, caramel, or taffy, some of the best southern candies around! The owners are dedicated to providing the freshest, highest quality, most flavorful candies and confections available, which is apparent in their motto "we don’t compromise, life is just too sweet!" There are two additional stores, one in Charleston and one in North Myrtle Beach. Before you go you must check out the most popular section in the store, currently including the dark chocolate bear claw, chocolate covered pretzels, and new praline cheesecake!
