South Carolina Aquarium

Situated right on the Charleston Harbor, the South Carolina Aquarium is the ultimate destination for fun, education, and a wild assortment of spectacular marine creatures. Start off your adventure with a look at some of South Carolina's own valued creatures like the bald eagle, American alligators, rattlesnakes, and river otters among many others. Explore stunning exhibits full of waterfalls, sheer rocky cliffs, and dazzling salt water tanks full of colorful schools of fish. Go from the South Carolina coast to the Saltmarsh Aviary where you can feed sting rays and marvel at the massive herons. Find your group marveling at the Great Ocean Tank, a massive 385,000 gallon salt water tank full of fascinating, and sometimes dangerous, creatures of the deep blue sea. Sea turtles mingle with jellyfish while sharks swim around and make appearances. Divers and daily feedings make for interesting shows while you're here!

Not only can you see the world's most beautiful undersea creatures but you can touch some of them too! Head to the Touch Tank and find hermit crabs, sea urchins, starfish, horseshoe crabs, and Atlantic stingrays. Learn about these amazing animals up close and even pick them up! Also new to the aquarium is the exhibit Shark Shallows, an all new experience where you can touch cownose rays, southern stingrays, and bonnethead sharks!
