Telfair Museum
The Telfair Museum is located in the vibrant historic district of Savannah and is actually comprised of three different and uniquely diverse buildings, two of which are known as National Historic Landmarks. The Telfair is known as the first public art museum in the southern United States, as well as the oldest public art museum in the south, opened in the mid-1880s. Each building houses artwork ranging from classic to cutting edge, with some of this era's best contemporary art located in the Jepson Center, in the Moshe Safdie Building. The entire conglomerate holds about 4,000 American and European works of art from the 18th through 21st centuries, making for one extremely fun art-filled day for your group - be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes!
