Welcome to the Texas State Aquarium, the non-profit state marine life education and conservation center that was founded in 1990 and takes up a scenic six acres of Shoreline Boulevard, right off the bay!

This aquarium is dedicated to promoting environmental conservation and rehabilitation of wildlife of the Gulf of Mexico bay area. Here you and your group will find an impressive collection of regional sea life, coral reefs, dolphin preserves, shark observation areas, touch pools, and even an expansive (and seriously fun) children’s playground and splash park. This is truly a fantastic place in Corpus Christi to take your student group to learn new things, get involved in local ecology and culture, see the city’s history and long-standing marine influence, and have tons of fun all at the same time! Enjoy the daily dive shows, live feedings, training sessions, and hands-on activities within. Trust me, your group won’t complain about the learning and you aren’t going to complain about all the activities to keep them busy within!

Check out the fun exhibits such as Floating Phantoms, Sea of Steel Stingray Bay, Dolphin Bay, Amazon, and Living Shores. Spend some time in the amazing underwater dolphin room, or perhaps in 2009 created Eagle Pass room, teaching the importance of backyard conservation. There are more things to see and do here than you probably have time for, but you should also try to see the impressive 40,000 gallon Flower Garden tank and visit such notable animals as Hemingway the Hawk, Squirt or Pickles the turtles, or perhaps Kai and Shadow, the dolphins! This aquarium is a global leader in education and conservation of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean sea region and attracts thousands of guests daily. Take full advantage of the summer camps, community outreach events, field trip event days, and on-site educational opportunities.

Before you go grab a bite to eat at the Pepsi Shoreline Grill, offering everything from hamburgers and shrimp po boys to hummus and mac n' cheese (save room for dessert, they have Oreo churros!), or maybe grab some quick concessions or coffee from Cafe Aqua or the Snack Shack. If you have time you should definitely try to visit the onsite gift shop as well, with special shark memento's, educational books and toys, and donation opportunities inside!
