For starters, your group can explore America’s oldest zoo, opened in 1874 charging just 25 cents to see it’s collection of 1000 animals. Today, it’s expanded 74 acres housing thousands of endangered animals, many of which were originally brought over from safari for the Smithsonian National Museum. For more natural history, visit the Academy of Natural Sciences, where your group will investigate different habitats, examine a real meteorite, search for fossil footprints, dig for shark teeth, watch a working beehive, and visit exhibits such as The Big Dig, Dinosaur Hall, Marveling at Mollusks and What Eats What.

Of course, the historical aspects of Philadelphia are what makes it so special.  Make your first stop at the Liberty Bell, a perfect group photo-op at the symbol of U.S. freedom, then take a short stroll to Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted and the Constitution signed, making our United States a free country. For a more interactive experience with the Constitution, visit the National Constitution Center, where your group can enjoy a live, multimedia performance re-enacting the journey from 1787 to the present, along with dozens of other hands-on lessons of our nation’s history.

Step back in time to the Revolutionary War at Valley Forge, where your group can relive epic battles to protect our nation. For more war-centered history, visit the Vietnam War Memorial honoring 646 fallen soldiers. A quick tour of the Betsy Ross house will show your students how the famous widow constructed the first American Flag, and a spooky journey through Eastern State Penitentiary to learn how some prisoners unlocked an escape-proof iron cell door.

However your group chooses to experience this historical landmark of a town, they’re bound to return home with a new knowledge and appreciation for our founding fathers. For more info, follow the link here.
