Union Market

Taking farmers markets to a new level, Union Market is a vibrant D.C. institution of food and artisanal culture. This gourmet food hall and market has been consistently rated one of the top five food halls in the United States by Bon Apetit magazine.

The market space includes nearly a hundred artisans and food related businesses such as Ah Love Oil & Vinegar, Bazaar Spices, Righteous Cheese, Dolcezza gelato and coffee, and more. Pop-ups are a given and some brilliant examples of the Union Market spirit include Teaism which brings in Asian inspired infused teas, Puddin’ comfort foods, Mason Dixie Biscuit Co., and Number 1 Sons which sell fermented foods such as kraut, kimchi, and pickles. Dock 5, a warehouse event venue with an aesthetic of rustic urban sophistication is popular for conferences, parties, and more. This isn’t the end of the Union Market, though. The Angelika Pop-up, a three screen micro cinema that shows specialty films, is soon to be the full Angelika Film Center with luxury seating and state-of-the-art technology.

Union Market is a rare conglomeration of human spirit and vibrancy, a collection of ethnic cuisines, art, and cultures which illustrates the integrity of American freedoms. This mixture strikes the perfect balance between the traditional practices of artisans and modern sophisticated presentation styles. You can find everything you want in this fun, spirited marketplace, open Tuesday through Sunday.
